Hernandez to sign new contract at half of Kessie figures
AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez will extend his contract with the Rossoneri until 2026. The French star commits his future at San Siro.
Theo Hernandez’s talent is now under everyone’s eyes. The French defender went from a problematic bad boy in Spain to one of the best full-backs in Italy. The Rossoneri are in renewal talks with the 24-year-old. AC Milan want to give Theo an important contract to reward him for his great performances and fend off the interest of other clubs.
Currently the French left-back receives a salary of about 1.5 million euros net per season, quite “low” considering his market value. Purchased for 21.5 million euros from Real Madrid, now his value has tripled. The management is perfectly aware and will guarantee Hernandez a higher salary.
Tuttosport reports that the contract extension of Theo Hernandez is among AC Milan’s immediate objectives. Paolo Maldini pushed for his signing in the summer of 2019 and a good relationship has been created between the two ever since.
A final meeting is scheduled between the parties after the derby against Inter, which the former Real Madrid will miss due to suspension (red card against Roma). Talks have been conducted by Theo’s agent, Manuel Garcia Quilon and the player will put pen to paper on a new contract until 2026.
Theo Hernandez is set to earn around 4 million euros from the new contract plus bonuses. That’s practically half of what Franck Kessie is asking Milan. Next in line for new deals are Ismael Bennacer and Rafael Leao.
