France legend Thierry Henry is quite impressed with AC Milan’s new singing challenging him to play in the World Cup.
During the summer transfer window AC Milan spent 10 million euros (bonuses included) to purchase French midfielder Yacine Adli. However, both clubs decided that Adli will spend the remaining of the season at Bordeaux on loan and join Milan next season.
Yacine Adli’s excellent performances with Bordeaux this season are not going unnoticed. The future AC Milan player received praise yesterday from French legend Thierry Henry at the end of the match between Bordeaux and PSG:
“You have changed your attitude, you were brave both against Reims and with PSG. And you encouraged your teammates, I am seeing a new Yacine Adli“, said the former Arsenal striker.
“I understand perfectly. Last year we had a difficult season and we learned our lesson. Now we are rebuilding and we need time but we know we have to hurry. It is not a personal discourse but a collective one, we feel more united, more empowered“, responded Adli to Henry.
Thierry Henry reminded the 21-year-old central midfielder that the World Cup and he should become part of the France national team. “I will challenge you: the World Cup is close, right? Then see you in a year…”. Adli has never been called up by the senior national team, at least until now.
The former Paris Saint-Germain talent has established himself as one of the best central midfielder in Ligue 1 in recent years. The 21-year-old has made 13 appearances with Bordeaux scoring one goal and providing three assists so far.
