Coach Marco Giampaolo, who is still under contract with AC Milan, could join Torino making the Rossoneri very happy.
He has been sacked since early October but Marco Giampaolo is still under contract with AC Milan. The agreement expires in June 2021 and there was an option for 2022 which obviously will not be exercised.
The Italian coach wants to return to the bench and redeem himself after the negative experience at the Rossoneri. According to Sportitalia (via MilanLive.it), Giampaolo is in contact with Torino to replace current coach Moreno Longo (who arrived in February). The former Milan coach has already given his approval to Torino to take over at the end of the season.
The possible arrival of the 52-year-old in Torino would allow the Rossoneri to save 2 million euros of his salary. A figure that gross weighs almost 4 million on the budget of the Rossoneri club.
Marco Giampaolo is reportedly eager to restart with Torino in the next season, a team that belongs to an important city. Meanwhile, Torino must obtain salvation, then the parties can better plan the future.
Marco Giampaolo, joined AC Milan last summer, after some fine seasons in charge of Sampdoria. Despite the faith of Paolo Maldini, the Italian coach lasted only 7 games at the Rossoneri and was latter replaced by Stefano Pioli.
