AC Milan have already spent 100 million for contract renewals an will invest 100 million more for three players.
With the contract extension of Pierre Kalulu that was announced a couple of days ago, Milan closed the eighth renewal of one of its players registered in the 2022 calendar year. The contract renewal of the young Frenchman defender arrived after Ibrahimovic, Theo Hernandez, Tonali, Tomori, Gabbia , Pobega and Krunic. To allow these renewals, Milan had already set aside a decent treasure and another will have to be allocated soon for the contract extensions of Bennacer, Leao and Olivier Giroud.
€100 MILLION
Gazzetta dello Sport analyzed the various costs of AC Milan from a salary point of view. In addition to the eight players already mentioned, the Rossoneri also signed permanently Florenzi and Messias as well as exercised the renewal option for Antonio Mirante. For all these transactions, in particular for the eight contract renewals, Milan have already invested a sum equal to 107 million euros.
This figure obviously concerns all the salary payments that will be given to the players from here to the end of the contract their respective contracts. In this way, the Rossoneri have secured a backbone of players to focus on at least until 2026: Kalulu, Tomori, Tonali, De Ketelaere, Theo Hernandez, Maignan, Origi, Pobega. To these names, however, the Rossoneri will try to add at least three more.
ANOTHER €100 MILLION
The other three players that Milan will now focus from now are of course Ismael Bennacer, Rafael Leao and Leao Giroud. The contract extension for the French striker is a simple formality. Giroud is in fine form (9 goals and 4 asssits in 18 appearances) and wants to stay at San Siro. There is also great optimism for the Algerian midfielder despite the number 4 not enjoying the benefits of the Decreto Crescita.
Bennacer’s request of for 4 million euros per season and an agreement close to those figures will be found. Instead, Rafael Leao’s renewal appears much more complicated. The increase requests have always been handled by Milan with great caution. The management knows well that satisfying the requests of a player too easily leads to inevitable consequences. In the specific case, Leao has further complications due to the fine he must pay to Sporting Lisbon. What remains indisputable, however, is that the club will always try to maintain a basic balance.
