Gds: AC Milan plan €40m treasure from two players
AC Milan will have to rely on sales in order to fund the summer campaign and two players can guarantee €40 million.
In the upcoming summer transfer window sales will play a key role. Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara have reportedly been given a transfer budget of 70 million euros so sales will also be decisive for new signings.
Captain Alessio Romagnoli will surely leave if he doesn’t renew his contract but that’s an issue to be solved latter on. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via milannews.it), AC Milan are planning to create a considerable treasure of €40 million from the sale of two players.
The first name on the market is Jens Peter Hauge. The Norwegian winger has done well when given the chance but he doesn’t have Stefano Pioli’s backing. The Italian coach rarely used him the second half of the season and even excluded Hauge from the Europa League squad list. He arrived for 5 million last year and is now available for €15 million.
The second player that can guarantee a healthy profit is Rafael Leao. The Portuguese striker had a second season at San Siro very similar to the first one. Although he featured much more this season, Leao was unable to find continuity. The 22-year-old is obviously talented but a shadow of doubt persists on his figure whether he’ll ever be able to fulfill his potential in Italy.
Leao’s agent Jorge Mendes is already moving to find an interesting offer. So far, Wolverhampton, Everton and Olympique Marseille have come forward for Leo. The Rossoneri will not even consider anything less than 25 million but in front of a bid of over 30 million the green light wouldn’t be a tough call for Maldini and Elliott.
