AC Milan are already working to create a new midfield for next season without the services of Franck Kessie.
AC Milan have lost any hope of convincing Franck Kessie to extend his contract. The 25-year-old Ivorian midfielder will leave the Rossoneri as a free agent once his deal has expired at the end of the season.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the AC Milan have designed the midfield of the future without the Ivorian. The work to replace Kessie and improve the midfield began in the summer with the purchase of Yacine Adli from Bordeaux for €10 million.
Next in the agenda of Maldini and Massara is the renewal of Ismael Bennacer. The Algerian star will be the second AC Milan player to sign a new long-term agreement with the Rossoneri.
Bennacer and Sandro Tonali will continue to play an important role in the future but a new midfielder will arrive this summer. The main transfer target to replace Franck Kessie is Renato Sanches.
With his contract expiring in one year, the Lille star is a wanted man on the market. AC Milan are in contact with his agent Jorge Mendes but, if the demands of the Portuguese midfielder are seen as excessive, the Rossoneri will turn their attention to other names.
