Gazzetta reports the latest on AC Milan transfer plans. From Simakan to Szoboszlai and the possible sales.
Who will leave and who will arrive at AC Milan in the coming months? La Gazzetta dello Sport analyzes the possible moves of the Rossoneri and predicts an explosive upcoming mercato.
In the January transfer window, the number one priority of the club remains a central defender also because at least one between Leo Duarte and Mateo Musacchio could soon pack his bags. The Brazilian could return in his homeland while the Argentine defender has admirers in La Liga.
Incoming, the first name on the list is that of Mohammed Simakan from Strasbourg. The 20-year-old French defender was very close to joining the Rossoneri in the summer but Strasbourg rejected every offer. In recent weeks there have been new contacts between the parties.
However, the Rossoneri are also keeping alive also talks with Schalke 04 for Ozan Kabak and with Verona for Matteo Lovato. Maldini is also preparing for next season, given that Dalot’s permanence is far from certain. AC Milan are looking around a back-up for Theo Hernandez. AC Milan scouts would have targeted the 18-year-old Sporting Lisbon gem Nuno Mendes but he has a high release clause of 45 million euros.
Regarding departures, the positions of Samu Castillejo and Hakan Calhanoglu are hanging in the balance for different reasons. Milan expected more from Samu and if the Spaniard leaves, the Rossoneri will try to anticipate the arrival of Florian Thauvin from Marseille. The Turk, on the other hand, has not signed the renewal and if he does not find an agreement he will leave in the summer on a free transfer.
Milan don’t intend to be caught unprepared if their number 10 were to say goodbye and for this reason they have advanced talks with Red Bull Salzburg talent Dominik Szoboszlai. The Hungarian attacking midfielder has many admirers around Europe but AC Milan seems to be his preferred destination.
