Gazzetta: Pioli studying an unpredictable Milan
AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli is trying to create an unpredictable squad that can feature Zlatan Ibra and Olivier Giroud more.
The key word is “unpredictability”. Because Stefano Pioli and AC Milan want to continue to amaze. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Rossoneri coach is working on a team that knows how to change during the match.
“Ours will be a fluid game system – confirmed the coach – which can vary from game to game. We will try different situations, different positions, we want to be unpredictable“. In the first friendly match against Pro Sesto we saw just a glimpse of what’s likely to come.
FORMATION – Maignan, Kjaer, Rebic and Giroud will also start working at Milanello on Monday. Pioli will have almost the entire squad available (Ibra will have to wait a little longer) and will be able to experiment with new solutions. The 4-2-3-1 remains the reference formation, the basis from which to start again.
And it is on those coordinates that the new one players will have to learn to move. As mentioned, however, Milan will be able to change their skin this year. Especially once the new attacking midfielder to paly alongside Brahim Diaz arrives.
CHANGES – Will it be possible to see Ibrahimovic and Giroud play together? In the 4-2-3-1 formation, of course, no. The most immediate solution is that of 4-4-2, but the two strikers could also co-exist in a three-man midfield in support of the attacking midfielder. With the “rhombus” midfield, Pioli could exploit better the qualities of Tonali and Pobega. Another option is AC Milan playing with an alternative 4-4-2 formation but with two central midfielders and two wingers in support of Ibra and Giroud.
