The Derby della Madonnina ends 4-2 in favor of Inter who manage to overturn initial two-goal lead of AC Milan.
A game of two halves at San Siro. A bitter taste for AC Milan after losing the Derby della Madonnina 4-2 despite taking a two-goal lead. Total domination in the first half saw AC Milan lead 2-0 after goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ante Rebic but the Rossoneri crumbled in the second 45-minutes conceding an embarrassing four goals.
Once again the derby goes to the cross-rivals of Inter. Considering the high number of goals conceded La Gazzetta dello Sport criticizes the defensive department of AC Milan with Gianluigi Donnarumma, Andrea Conti, Simon Kjaer and Alessio Romagnoli blasted for their performances. The Danish defender is considered as the worst player on the pitch.
5.5 for Gigio Donnarumma who could have done more on Matias Vecino’s goal according to the newspaper. 5-5 also for Conti who suffered a dip in form in the second half and keeps Alexis Sanchez in play during the equalizer goal. Rating 5 instead for Kjaer who is unable to stop the ball during the Nerazzurri’s equalizer and then gets dominated by Romelu Lukaku on the final goal. 5.5 for the captain who loses Stefan de Vrij. Theo Hernandez, with 6.5, is the only one to save himself.
The situation is a bit better in midfield. 6 for the tireless Frank Kessie. 6.5 for Ismael Bennacer who, besides Ibrahimvoic, is the only one fighting and pushing forward in the second half. 6 for Samuel Castillejo and Hakan Calhanoglu who are both not effective in the second half.
6.5 for Ante Rebic whose muscle, power and intelligent play are a great help in the first 45 minutes. Without a doubt Zlatan Ibrahimovicis the best among the Rossoneri. 7 for the Swedish striker who scores, assists and hits the posts. Inexistent the contribution of Rafael Leao, Lucas Paqueta and Giacomo Bonaventura.
