AC Milan is expected to change change owner again after just one year. Chinese businessman Yonghong Li is negotiating the sale of the club with two American subjects.
The current edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, opens with the big headline “Here’s who Mr. Milan is” devoting ample space to AC Milan corporate issues adding “Rocco Commisso, the Calabrian owner of New York Cosmos, is negotiating with Mr. Li to join the Rossoneri club“.
The American billionaire migrated to US aged 12 from Calabria. He is the founder of Mediacom, the country’s eighth-largest cable TV company and with annual revenues of over $1.6 billion. From 2017 he is the owner of the New York Cosmos, a famous US football club where Brazilian legend Pelé ended his career.
His assets amount to 4.5 billion dollars and he is being backed by Goldman Sachs investment bank in his attempt to buy AC Milan club. The 68 year old is considered to be in advantage over Thomas Ricketts and his family. According to reports negotiations with Yonghong Li are already in an advanced stage and Commisso is the favorite to become the new owner of the Red and Blacks.
