Gazzetta: Genoa 0-1 AC Milan, player ratings

A game destined to end 0-0 but won with pride and heart by AC Milan. Andre Silva has the last word at Marassi. The Portuguese scores with the final touch of the game to seal a precious 0-1 win over Genoa.

Against Genoa the team of Gennaro Gattuso has at the same time exposed the defects still present as within the squad, like a confused attacking maneuver and a discontinuity in the build-up phase but also great qualities like an iron defense and a growing physical-athletic condition, seen in the final moments at Marassi.

As usual, La Gazzetta dello Sport published today the ratings and individual assessments for all AC Milan part of yesterday’s match. Not a lot of praise for the Rossoneri who failed to penetrate a very compact Genoa but still a discrete performance embellished by the last second goal of Andre Silva. The Portuguese is obviously among the best, with a well deserved 7 for his net that will be decisive for the classification of AC Milan. Same rating also for Alessio Romagnoli, who confirms his ‘top’ moment with another impeccable test.

Positive the performances in defense of Bonucci and Rodriguez, while Fabio Borini as right-back struggled to isolate the speedy Laxalt. Sufficient the conduct in midfield, while Suso lights up in the final moments of the game and deserves a 6.5 for his assist for Andre Silva.

Another disappointing outing by Nikola Kalinic. The Croatian striker is impalpable for large stretches of the match, and fails to transform in goal a beautiful assist by Ricardo Rodriguez. Perhaps it is no coincidence that without him AC Milan raise their level and takes home the 3 points.
