Gattuso’s secret weapon to help Higuain
AC Milan will try to quickly forget the disappointing result against Napoli but in order to do so the squad needs the help of Gonzalo Higuain.
Even if the Rossoneri had managed to hold the advantage against Napoli there is still some aspects of that game that are just too alarming to ignore. One of this was the inherited solitude of AC Milan’s centre forward, this time was Higuain’s turn to experience the isolation in attack that Kalinic and Andre Silva have felt before him.
The Argentine striker touched the ball three times less than the goalkeeper against Napoli. An intimidating stat that demonstrates how the 30 year old was overlooked by his teammates many times when the team was trying to push forward. Time is not on AC Milan’s side and Gattuso must quickly find a cure to involve Higuain more in the game and provide support for him.
Against Roma, Rino is counting on the help of Hakan Calhanoglu who returns to the starting lineup after a one match suspension. The Turkish maestro has could prove to be just what Higuain needs to awaken his goalscoring instinct. The 24 year old often tries to serve his teammates inside the box and in addition his set-piece skills could be very useful for a typical number 9 like the Argentine.
