Andre Silva was the second most expensive purchase of AC Milan last summer but despite the big fee paid for him the Portuguese striker failed to perform.
According to recent reports by Sky Sports, AC Milan will not sell Andre Silva this summer. The Portuguese ace who joined the Rossoneri from Porto last summer for a figure of 38 million euros failed to impress at San Siro in his debut season. The 22 year old scored only 2 goals in Serie A this year and ended the season as third choice striker behind Patrick Cutrone and Nikola Kalinic.
His lack of goals and minutes saw him draw links with other clubs with AC Milan reportedly open to offers. For a long time an exchange was considered between Andre Silva and Radamel Falcao but Mirabelli closed the door to such a possibility (read here). Now Sky reports that despite his poor first season at San Siro the Serie A giants will not offload Silva this summer.
The news is confirmed even by coach Gattuso. Although he has often preferred other players in attack, Rino yesterday used positive words for the Portuguese striker confirming his stay. Present in Moscow to follow Russia-Saudi Arabia, Rino commented on the future of his striker: “The World Cup is an incredible experience, surely it will do him good. The boy has lots of talent, he’s young, we have to wait for him, but this experience can do him very well“.
