Gattuso explains Andre Silva’s sale

Portuguese striker Andre Silva left AC Milan after only one season at San Siro. The 22 year old joined Sevilla on loan with the right to buy.

Andre Silva was one of the most expensive signings in the history of AC Milan. The Rossoneri purchased the 22 year old Portuguese striker for 38 million euros last summer but he failed to justify the investment made and left after only one season in Italy. In today’s press conference coach Gattuso explained his departure.

“Andre Silva has already scored three goals. We did not want to sell him but he wanted to leave at all costs and when a player asks to leave, it is right he leaves. However he is a player that for his age was important. Last year our strikers we missed a lot of goals, we hope it will not happen the same with Higuain”.

Rino then continued on the impact that Higuain can have on Cutrone: “I hope Patrick is smart, it’s the same thing as with Donnarumma, he has to learn the hard-to-do movements, I think Higuain can be an important help but he has to work a lot. We have two forwards, the third is Borini. Andre Silva wanted to leave, Bacca left on the last day of the market. We really believe in Patrick so we decided not to sign anyone else this summer“.
