Gattuso: “Borini, Higuain, Cutrone injured. We will invent something in attack”
AC Milan face Sassuolo tomorrow away from home but coach Gennaro Gattuso is dealing with an emergency situation in attack.
Coach Gennaro Gattuso was present before the media today to talk about tomorrow’s game against Sassuolo. The Rossoneri are struggling lately and despite the overall good displays with Cagliari, Atalanta and Empoli, the team was unable to clinch the three points in each of this games. In addition to performance problems the team is also in trouble with many injury issues.
In today’s press conference Rino discussed on the matter confirming the difficult position of his team on this aspect. The coach will probably have to invent something for the Sassuolo match considering that Higuain, Cutrone and now even Borini are not fully fit.
“Even Fabio Borini has an ankle problem, this morning he made a resonance but we have to wait and see. We probably will invent something for tomorrow. Higuain tried yesterday but he still feels some pain. Risking a player and then lose him for one or two months would be pointless.
Higuain will say the last word but if he is not 100% it would be useless to prove him. Patrick (Cutrone), must be admired for his desire to play tomorrow at all costs. He spends 3/4 hours at Milanello every day to become fit. We must start from this mentality and I appreciate it a lot.
The entire club is backing us in this difficult moment. I am happy for the support I have received from the management. I’m not happy for what I have given so far, perhaps some more victories. There is great disappointment for this part. There is always something to improve but we have made good games. The path is right, we just have to limit some excessive mistakes.
