Franck Kessie’s time at AC Milan could have come to an end with Tottenham planning a January swoop for the Ivorian.
The future of Franck Kessie may be nearing a turning point. The Ivorian central midfielder is currently busy on international duty but he may not return at AC Milan at the end of Africa’s Cup of Nations.
The contract of the 25-year-old expires at the end of the season and there’s no chance for its renewal. AC Milan have no intention to match his demands of 10 million euros per season and the player will not accept Milan’s offer of €6.5 million.
Many clubs are trying to exploit this situation including Tottenham Hotspur. Antonio Conte is a big admirer of the AC Milan midfielder. The Telegraph reports that Tottenham are preparing a January swoop for Franck Kessie to avoid battle for his signature in summer.
Selling Kessie in January represents AC Milan’s only chance of profiting something from his sale. Until now the Rossoneri have not considered his sale but an offer from Tottenham could prove quite tempting for a player that will be under Stefano Pioli’s order for just four months.
This is not the first time Antonio Conte has tried to sign Kessie. In fact, the Italian coach already made an attempt when he was coaching Inter but without success. Nevertheless, Maldini and Pioli must carefully evaluate whether it’s worth letting a first team player leave in a time when the squad is fighting for the Scudetto.
