AC Milan make their Serie A debut on Saturday against Carlo Ancelotti’s Napoli but coach Gattuso is preparing the match without Calhanoglu.
At the San Paolo stadium, AC Milan must face Napoli without Hakan Calhanoglu suspended for one match. The Rossoneri will try to succeed without a key player like the 24 year old, one of the firm and strongest points of Gennaro Gattuso’s team. The coach, as reported by Tuttosport, has conceived four solutions to replace the Turkish maestro. After the failed experiment with Fabio Borini as left winger, Rino will choose one between Bonaventura, and Castillejo to play in the attacking trio, without forgetting the jolly Laxalt.
Rino has not yet made a final decision, but seems intent on advancing Jack Bonaventura up from with Bakayoko in midfield and Borini on the bench. A logical choice, also considering how dangerous the opponent are. Castillejo is also an option but Gattuso will hardly throw him into the fray. Among other things, the Spanish prefers the right flank, the one owned by Suso, just to be clear.
Attention also to the Laxalt alternative. The former Genoa can cover the entire left wing on his own. He was signed as an alternative to Ricardo Rodriguez for the role of full-back, but could also play in a more advanced position. It would be – writes Tuttosport – a solution of “containment”, good for a more defensive AC Milan and ready to punish on counter-attack.
