PSG announced that Edinson Cavani, Thiago Silva, Thomas Meunier and Layvin Kurzawa will leave the French club for free in the summer.
The Coronavirus emergency has hit even one of the richest clubs in European football. PSG recently announced the departure of four players with the economically factor having played a big part in the final decision.
Edinson Cavani, Thiago Silva, Thomas Meunier and Layvin Kurzawa are now free agents and can join other clubs, PSG sporting director Leonardo confirmed in an interview with RMC Sport.
All four players could be interesting alternatives for clubs like AC Milan who can’t afford to spend a lot on player fees this summer. Thiago Silva is a former player of the Rossoneri and a realistic target for the defence. He could be the ideal partner of Alessio Romagnoli but coach Carlo Ancelloti is already working to bring Silva in England at Everton.
Edinson Cavani is PSG’s all-time top scorer. The 33-year-old striker is still one of the most dangerous strikers in front of the goal and being a free agent has attracted additional interest in his services. He could be the ideal replacement of Ibrahimovic thus allowing Milan to invest more on another striker. Atletico Madrid are currently leading the race for Cavani.
With at least one between Calabria and Conti expected to leave Milan must sign a new right-back. Meunier is a Belgium international with great experience to his name. Kurzawa on the other hand would be the cheap back-up of Theo Hernandez. In 2015, PSG spent €25 million to sign the left back from Monaco.
