Tiemoue Bakayoko-Gattuso fight

Tiemoue Bakayoko is close to returning for a second spell at AC Milan. Maldini had a positive meeting in Italy with his agents.

The arrival of the fourth central midfielder in the Rossoneri squad is just a matter of time. AC Milan are back on track for Tiemoue Bakayoko, and the deal could be closed soon. If his return to San Siro seemed impossible at the beginning, with Lyon and Rennes pressing to sign him, the prospects have changed in recent days.

In fact, Milan have re-established positive contacts with Chelsea. With just a few days until the end of the summer transfer window, the Blues are trying to offload unwanted players. Chelsea, who initially were reluctant to let Bakayoko for anything less than 20 million euros, are now open to let him leave loan.

In the last days, Chelsea have exercised their option to extend the contract of Tiemoue Bakayoko unilaterally until 2023. A necessary move in order to allow the French midfielder to leave on loan. Today there was a meeting at Casa Milan between Maldini, Massara and the player’s agents reports Gianluca Di Marzio.

Unable to agree a transfer fee for Yacine Adli, AC Milan have shifted their focus on Bakayoko. The 27-year-old defensive midfielder is getting closer and closer to the Rossoneri. The meeting with agents Marco Branca and Marco Busiello was quite positive and Bakayoko has agreed to cut his salary in order to return at AC Milan for a second spell.

Tiemoue was part of AC Milan in the 2018/19 season. After a difficult start he became a key player for the Rossoneri making 42 appearances that season. AC Milan are negotiating with Chelsea to have the option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season for a fee of around 10 million euros.
