Fonseca changes formation for Milan vs Lecce

AC Milan will face Lecce tomorrow at San Siro. The Rossoneri want their second consecutive victory after the derby triumph.

AC Milan managed to win the derby against Inter after six consecutive defeats. A huge feat from coach Pauolo Fonseca who had the courage to deploy a hyper attacking formation at a time when everyone was expecting his sacking in case of a negative result. The Rossoneri won the derby with full merit earning deserved praise for their game and the character shown. However, it is important to keep up the momentum and get another positive result on Friday.

AC Milan will host Lecce at San Siro in an attempt to find a second consecutive league victory. As expected Matteo Gabbia will be confirmed in the centre back position after a towering performance in the derby. Gabbia will play alongside Fikayo Tomori with Pavlovic again set to remain on the bench. Emerson Royal will be confirmed on the right with Davide Calabria likely to stay out again as he has not recovered yet. Theo Hernandez is undisputed on the left.

Tijani Reijnders has become a key player under Fonseca and the Portuguese coach will trust him again from the first minute alongside Youssouf Fofana. The French international has still work to do to reign his old Monaco form. Ruben Loftus Cheek returns to play from the start as Fonseca will not be confirming and two-strikers formation.

That is because Morata will stay out due to bursitis, although, he is expected to be part of the squad list. It will be Tammy Abraham to lead the AC Milan attack against Lecce. The English striker has had a very positive start to life with the Red and Blacks already scoring one goal and providing two assists. Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao will be in support of Abraham. Pulisic was another key figure of the derby while Leao was a shadow of his regular self.

AC MILAN Probable XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan, Emerson Royal, Gabbia, Tomori, Theo Hernandez, Fofana, Reijnders, Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Rafael Leao, Abraham.

LECCE Probable XI (4-4-2): Falcone, Dorgu, Gaspar, Baschirotto, Gallo, Morente, Ramadani, Coulibaly, Banda, Rebic, Krstovic.
