Fonseca ask AC Milan to sign specific name for the attack

AC Milan are still working to complete the squad ahead of the new season and Fonseca has a specific demand for the attack.

AC Milan have been active on the transfer market but there is still work to be done in order to give coach Paulo Fonseca a competitive team. The Rossoneri so far have purchased EURO winner Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid and Strahinja Pavlovic to strengthen the defence from RB Salzburg. The Rossoneri are currently exchanging documents with Tottenham to finalize the transfer of Emerson Royal while a fee of €5 million was paid to Real Madrid for the highly rated youngster, Alex Jimenez, who will play for the newly created Under-23 side, Milan Futuro.

The next two priorities of Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the transfer market are the signing of Youssouf Fofana from Monaco and adding up another striker to complete the department alongside Morata and Jovic. There are a couple on targets on AC Milan’s list but the Portuguese coach has only name in mind. Paulo Fonseca has asked AC Milan to sign Tammy Abraham from Roma.

Tammy Abraham had a fantastic first season in Italy following his €41 million transfer from Chelsea in 2021. The English striker scored 27 goals in what looked only like the start of a brilliant career in Italy. Unfortunately the next two seasons were disappointing for the 26-year-old striker who also missed numerous games due to a severe ACL injury.

Abraham seems to have finally regained his full fitness ahead of the new season. Fonseca favors the signing of Tammy Abraham because he considers the Englishman as a perfect player to link up with Leao and Pulisic or Chukwueze in a similar way that Morata is projected to do but at the same time providing more options in attack. The 26-year-old makes a variety of movements to aid his team’s attacks. Abraham targets the space in behind an opposing defence to chase through balls. Direct, penetrative and clever runs lead to regular goalscoring chances, though his finishing is not as polished as it can be.

Roma are open to selling Abraham and Tammy is pushing a lot to join AC Milan this summer. Both clubs have discussed on the matter on a couple of occasions but without success so far. Roma are reportedly interested in including Alexis Saelemaekers in the Abraham deal. However, there is a difference of valuations between the two clubs for both players. Milan will keep trying to fulfill the demands of coach Paulo Fonseca. An initial loan move with the option or obligation to make the move permanent seems like the most likely conclusion of this deal.
