Five players to leave AC Milan after the season ends

At least five players will not be part of AC Milan’s new project and will leave immediately after the season is over.

A summer of important changes will take place at AC Milan with the sale of the club to Investcorp. The Bahrain fund is expected to invest a lot to strengthen the squad while a number of players will leave. Five AC Milan players will bid farewell to the club at the end of the season regardless of the name of the new club owner.

Franck Kessie and Alessio Romagnoli will leave the Rossoneri as free agents following in the footsteps of Donnarumma and Calhangolu. Kessie has already signed for Barcelona while Romagnoli will likely stay in Serie A. The AC Milan captain should join Lazio after losing his spot in Pioli’s eleven.

AC Milan will offload Samuel Castillejo once the season is over. After numerous failed attempts, the Spanish right winger has understood he will not have anymore space in Pioli’s squad. The 27-year-old is set to return in Spain with a couple of clubs ready to meet AC Milan’s €5 million asking price.

AC Milan will cut short Tiemoue Bakayoko’s loan. The French defensive midfielder arrived on a two year loan with the obligation to buy but the Rossoneri have the option to return Bakayoko back to Chelsea after just one season. Bakayoko’s second spell at Milan has been a huge disappointing giving little contribution in the Scudetto fight.

Another player who has failed to live up to expectations is Fode Ballo-Toure. The Senegalese champion was supposed to be Theo Hernandez’s back-up this season but he has done very little when given the chance. Maldini spent €5 million to buy Ballo-Toure from Monaco and is reportedly willing to accept also a loan move for the 25-year-old left back.
