Milan’s CEO, Marco Fassone is obviously disappointed with today’s result but more with the overall performance of the rossoneri.
AC Milan’s ugly performance at Marassi against Sampdoria losing 2-0 forced Marco Fassone to talk after the game and try to clarify some things and encourage the team.
After Fassone’s initial statements for Sky Sport (read here), the CEO of rossoneri was intervened by Milan TV. These were his words, above all regarding the abrupt stop of the team: “We are not searching for excuses, we are young but we also have players with tremendous experience. Compared to the others we have changed more, today’s game will be analyzed because we no longer want to see games like this. We have important matches now, like that against Rome, but I have already seen something different in the eyes of the players, I am convinced that tomorrow we will turn the page.”
The central theme of his intervention is clearly the unexpected defeat today at Marassi: “Behind this defeat there are technical and tactical motivations that Montella and Mirabelli will consider carefully. From the outside, to me the thing that struck me the most was the spirit with which Milan entered the field and that for 60 minutes it was not a spirit worthy of Milan. For this problem there are a few recipes: just look in the eyes and understand that we are Milan, we wear an important jersey. We have the necessary skills to play better than this. There is not much time, our goal is to enter the top four. We have an average of two points per game, which has always been an average of Champions League but I do not know if it will be this way throughout the season.“
