ESPN: Milan continue to chase Emil Forsberg
One of the unsuccessful market targets of last summer was Emil Forsberg. AC Milan tried till the end but nothing happened, the German club of RB Leipzig resisted and rejected every approach form the rossoneri.
The Swedish star went public stating that a probable transfer in San Siro would be a dream, with ESPN reporting that an agreement between Milan and Forsberg was reached. Today, the same American broadcaster, reports that the possibility Forsberg joins Milan is still quite open. The goal scorer and star of Sweden, next November will be in San Siro for the second leg of the 2018 World Cup playoffs against Italy. The perfect opportunity to monitor him closely both from Milan and from Juventus. Competition not to be underestimated for the rossoneri leadership, if interest on the talented striker was really confirmed.
In attack, the rossoneri seem fairly covered, with young prospects like Andre Silva and Patrick Cutrone plus an expert striker like Nikola Kalinic. Forsberg’s Bundesliga farewell last summer, before the Rossoneri signed Kalinic, did not materialize because of the excessive economic demands from Red Bull Leipzig. Last June, his agent attacked the German club with very strong words: “We spoke to the leadership of our ambitions, his future and his dreams. They did not buy him for 15 millions, but only for 3, he signed a new contract and has repayed his club at least 10 times his value. They must let him go. Emil wants to take the next step, if it is not possible the club will have to live with the awareness that they are destroying his dreams.”
In the following months the player declared that he was happy to play for Leipzig, but it can not to be ruled out that the next season he may seek to leave Germany, especially if the attacker’s performance should improve further. Milan and Juventus, according to the latest rumors, remain alert, especially the red and blacks.
