Eriksen provokes Milan ahead of derby match
He could have joined AC Milan many years ago but Christian Eriksen will play his first Derby della Madonnina with the Inter colors.
One year before joining Ajax, AC Milan had the opportunity to sign Christian Eriksen for less than €1 million. The Danish talent had a trial with the Rossoneri but at the end Milan opted against a move for the promising youngsters.
Many years latter Eriksen moves to a Serie A club and on Sunday he will take part in his first Derby della Madonnina. The former Tottenham star was without a doubt the most illustrious January signing in Italy.
Interviewed by Gazzetta dello Sport, Christian Eriksen recalled how he almost joined AC Milan. “I flew from Odense to Milanello for two days. I had a trial with the Primavera. Going back to Denmark, inside of me I thought ‘am I going or not?’ Italy seemed too far from home, I was close to the family. But then an answer never came to me, the two clubs decided it“.
Regarding the derby he doesn’t fear anyone from the Rossoneri side. “Here we have a whole stadium that sings. There will be a lot of noise, the atmosphere will be beautiful. I am not afraid of anyone from Milan. We are in a better position in the table, even though anything can happen in the derby”, said Eriksen .
Inter currently occupy the second spot in Serie A standing with 3 points behind first-place Juventus while the Rossoneri are 7 points behind the fourth place.
