AC Milan interested in Man United right-back

Diogo Dalot

Considering the disappointing form of Conti and Calabria, AC Milan will buy a new right back with Manchester defender Diogo Dalot on their radar.

The hunt for the right back at Milan continues. Andrea Conti and Davide Calabria have not convinced and one of the priorities of the Rossoneri in the summer will be to sign a new right back. The management hopes to find a new Theo Hernandez in order to build a perfect pair of full backs.

The names being linked with AC Milan these days are really many. The Rossoneri are looking for the right opportunity, which could be translated into a redundancy from other top clubs. According to the latest rumors (via MilanLive.it), AC Milan are paying close attention to the Premier League with particular interest in Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot.

The 21-year-old Portuguese was signed by Manchester United when Jose Mourinho was coach of the Red Devils. He was supposed to become quickly a regular starter for United but after two years and fewer chances this season he’s sure to leave when the summer transfer window opens.

In 2018 Diogo Dalot emerged as one of the brightest talents in Portugal. After just one season with Porto’s first team, Mourinho and Manchester United decided to spend €22 million to acquire his services. This season Dalot has made 10 appearances with United serving as Wan-Bissaka’s back up. His current marked value is at around 15 million euros.

Diego Dalot is a profile that seems to tick all the requirements of the project that Elliott and Gazidis have in mind for Milan. The Portuguese right back has similar characteristics to Dani Alves and his compatriot Joao Cancelo, therefore excellent in the attacking phase but less contribution in defence.
