Di Marzio: “Why Donnarumma is worth ‘only’ €50m”
AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma could be sold to PSG this summer but his potential transfer fee of “only” €50 million is deemed to low by many.
MILAN NEWS – With the appointment of Leonardo as sporting director, PSG have reignited their interest in AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The Italian youngster is PSG’s number one target for the goal.
The rich French club made on opening bid of €20 million plus Alphonse Areola. PSG value Areola at 30 million thus taking the total offer to 50 million. Their advances were rejected by AC Milan who value the PSG goalkeeper 10 million less and pretend a cash-only operation without technical counterparts.
However, there is some controversy regarding the market value of Donnarumma. AC Milan demand 70 million for his services but according to reports Gigio could be sold for 50 million. Many have asked why, in a time when Chelsea sign Kepa Arrizabalaga for 80 million euros and Liverpool buy Alisson for 75, Gigio is worth much less. Gianluca di Marzio explains the situation.
According to the Italian transfer market expert: “PSG insists on Donnarumma. He has a market value of 50 million euros. The reason is related to the fact that Donnarumma has only two years remaining in his contract with Milan and there are no currently no negotiations for the renewal“.
AC Milan have been banned from participating in Europa League this season. The Rossoneri are more free to invest on the market this summer, nevertheless, the club must fix their books if they don’t want to end up in the same situation next season. Only a sale of a player like Donnarumma, who could guarantee a great capital gain, could help Milan with UEFA.
