Sky Sport journalist Gianluca Di Marzio offers updates on Ralf Rangnick and the transfer plans of AC Milan.
Transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio answered some questions on Twitter paying particular attention to Ralf Rangnick and AC Milan’s transfer plans. The Italian journalist offered updates on the German coach, potential signing and the Rossoneri’s dream: Szoboszlai.
On Rangnick and on the negotiations carried out by the current Rossoneri directors:
“Rangnick obviously has his own ideas but hasn’t opened talks for any player and will not allow himself to do so until he has signed his contract with AC Milan. How would Maldini and Massara, who have a contract, take it? I said Rangnick won’t allow himself to negotiate with players without his appointment. In fact it was Maldini and Massara who signed Kalulu, if they find opportunities they will legitimately move forward since no one has informed them that they will not be in charge. Rangnick will serve as manager also overseeing the transfer business“.
Again on Kalulu and the permanent transfer of Saelemaekers:
“Kalulu is an operation conduced by Massara and Maldini. He is a free transfer and a promising young player. Kalulu is an investment that is always done regardless of who is the coach. The purchase of the Belgian midfielder was already done in January (it was practically an obligation to buy). Saelemaekers was completely closed in January. They (Maldini and Massara) do their job and if they find an opportunity then they go on until someone tells them that another comes in their place“.
On Napoli’s interest in Dominik Szoboszlai, the young Red Bull Salzburg star that AC Milan has been following for some time:
“Now Napoli are pushing hard and they are intrigued by him but first they have to sell Allan. Szoboszlai has two official offers from the Bundesliga and AC Milan will really enter the race when (as I think) Rangnick will officially start working. Until he signs, Rangnick certainly won’t negotiate“.
