AC Milan faced Torino at the San Siro in a match dominated by Pioli’s side. The Rossoneri won 2-0 and continue to lead Serie A. Nevertheless, an absent protagonist of the match was AC Milan transfer target Soualiho Meite who was left out of the squad list.
After yesterday’s first reports, journalist Gianluca Di Marzio offers more details on the possible transfer of Soualiho Meite to AC Milan. The mercato expert also reveals the difficulties the Rossoneri are facing in their attempts to sign Meite.
Di Marzio reports an interesting derby backstory with Inter being the first Milanese club to test the ground for the French midfielder. Inter inquired in December but later shifted their focus to Udinese’s Rodrigo De Paul.
The 26-year-old central midfielder has lost has regular spot under coach Marco Giampaolo and Torino are open to let him leave in January. Torino have asked one million for his loan and 10 million euros to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.
The French midfielder arrived in Italy from Monaco in 2018 for a figure of nearly 12 million euros. He has made 14 Serie A appearances this season scoring once and providing one assist. Milan’s next match is again against Torino in Coppa Italia and the two clubs will have a fresh round of discussions for the French player.
