AC Milan are looking again at Chelsea to improve their defence. The Rossoneri need to sign a substitute for Simon Kjaer.
The injury of Simon Kjaer has caused a huge problem at Milanello. The veteran centre back will stay out for around 6 months with his season practically over. This unexpected situation has forced the Rossoneri to look on the market for a substitute.
Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are considering a number of options. The management has one month at their disposal to find a new defender. Sky Sport journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Rossoneri are looking again at Chelsea for Kjaer’s substitute.
AC Milan are interested in Andreas Christensen. The 25-year-old centre back is Kjaer’s teammate in the Denmark national team with the two forming a great duo that has helped the Danish qualify for the 2022 World Cup with 9 victories out of 10. Christensen in fact would be Maldini’s dream signing according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
Christensen is 25 years old and already has a lot of experience with over 140 official appearances with Chelsea at top level. He has already played alongside Fikayo Tomori. In addition, Christensen is set to become a free agent at the end of the season. Renewal talks with Chelsea have stalled for a long time and the talented centre back could leave for free in six months.
AC Milan hope to profit from this situation purchasing Andreas Christensen at a price much lower that his current €40 million market value. However, as past deals with Bakayoko and Tomori have demonstrated, negotiating with Chelsea is never an easy feat.
