Di Marzio: AC Milan considering sensational return
Watford winger Gerard Deulofeu had a brief spell at AC Milan but he left positive memories and a return is possible.
In the last few days, the name of Gerard Deulofeu has been linked with AC Milan again. The Spanish winger plays with Watford in England but his club was relegated from the Premier League and he will leave London in the summer.
At the moment there are no concrete negotiation between Milan and Deulofeu, even if the player through his entourage has already made it known that would love to return. The 26-year-old was part of the Rossoneri in the second half of the 2016/2017 season leaving good memories for the fans.
Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that “AC Milan likes Deulofeu and has made an initial inquiry to his agent to determine his level of interest. Deulofeu is a name that could be featured prominently in the Rossoneri’s summer transfer plans“.
According to Calcioomercato.it, Milan are not willing to spend important figure for the return of Deulofeu but a transfer would be feasible with the formula of loan with the right to buy. The former Barcelona talent suffered a serious injury this season and AC Milan are being careful in this regard.
Gerard Deulofeu would be easy to place in Stefano Pioli’s 4-2-3-1. He could play on both wings. After a fantastic season last year that saw his price tag increase to 40 million, Gerard is now available for half of that figure. In 28 appearances this season, the skilled winger scored 4 goals and assisted 5.
