De Ketelaere agent asks a ‘special’ favor from Ibrahimovic
The agent of Charles De Ketelaere contacted AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic to ask a favor for his client.
AC Milan have completed the purchase of Charles De Ketelaere from Club Brugge. As first reported by acmilaninfo.com an agreement was imminent with the Belgian attacking midfielder pushing hard to join the Rossoneri. Despite more lucrative offers from England De Ketelaere wanted only AC Milan.
AC Milan will spend a total of €35 million (32 million plus 3 million in easy reachable add-ons) for De Ketelaere. Club Brugge will also have a 15% sell-on clause in their favor. The agreement marks the end of the long negotiations saga that lasted over one month. However, Milan finally got their target.
The 21-year-old will put pen to paper on a five-year contract until 2027. De Ketelaere will earn €2 million per season plus bonuses at San Siro. The player decided to reduce his salary in order to facilitate a transfer to the Italian champions. Charles will be in Milano tomorrow and will undergo medical exams on Sunday or Monday.
Meanwhile, Gianluca Di Marzio reveals an interesting backstory on transfer of De Ketelaere to AC Milan. “Tom de Mul, agent of Charles and former teammate of Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Ajax, got in touch with the Swedish striker through mutual friends. De Mul “recommend” Ibrahimovic to take the young attacking midfielder under his protective wing, in order to also facilitate his adaption period at Milan“.
Once again Zlatan Ibrahimovic emerges as a key figure in the Rossoneri squad. The veteran striker serves as an example and mental coach for his younger teammates. A player that despite his rich trophy cabinet is always hungry to win more. That’s why Maldini wanted Zlatan to sign a contract extension regardless of his 41 years.
