Former AC Milan defender turned pundit Alessandro Costacurta advises his old club to go for two specific striker this summer.

The biggest problem of AC Milan this season is exactly the same as the in the last one: the lack of goals from their attacker. A proper solution did not arrive during last summer. New striker Divock Origi has a disastrous record of only two goals and one assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.

AC Milan’s other forward, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has played a total of 4 matches this season. Under such circumstances, the entire burden of the attack has been left on Oliver Giroud’s shoulders. The French international has contributed with 13 goals and 7 assists (stats before Sampdoria match) but at 36-year-old he cannot be playing every match as he has practically done this season.

This situation becomes worse in comparison to direct opponents like Juventus and Inter. Giroud, who has the best goals per minute average at 227, would only rank fourth in Inter and Juventus squad. Both clubs have three players with a goals per minute average of under 200 minutes.

AC Milan are expected to take action to improve the situation in attack with two forwards rumored to arrive this summer. Club legend Alessandro Costacurta has advised the Rossoneri to look at two specific names for the attack. “I would sign someone like Scamacca. There is a shortage of strikers with those qualities and Milan can be the right environment for him. Another player I like is Benjamin Sesko, the 19-year-old from Red Bull Salzburg. A little inconstant but young and really strong“.

At the end the AC Milan legend takes aim at the performances of Pierre Kalulu and Tomori. “Their performances have been disappointing this season. Last season they were the real secret to the Scudetto win and Kalulu’s growth had impressed me a lot because I dint knew him. In recent months, however, they have made a lot of mistakes. I am very surprised“, said Costacurta.
