Former Rossoneri defender Alessandro Costacurta claims that AC Milan have three irreplaceable players and Zlatan is not one.
AC Milan secured a very important win against Torino thanks to a single goal by Olivier Giroud. The Rossoneri now lead Serie A with a record 28 points after 8 rounds with just a single draw and 9 victories. AC Milan legend Alessandro Costacurta comments on the Rossoneri’s match.
“It was a very difficult test and Milan passed it thanks to physicality. I thought Milan would suffer more than they have done in the previous matches due to their physically struggles. Today Milan held up, they risked little and only on one occasion“, said he for Sky Sport.
The former centre back than highlights AC Milan’s three irreplaceable players. “Sandro Tonali is the symbol of a growing team but in general they are all very solid. Besides Tonali, to the list of irreplaceable players I must also add Theo Hernandez and Brahim Diaz. Without them they struggled a lot”.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is no longer a decisive player for AC Milan according to Alessandro Costacurta. “Ibrahimovic is no longer the decisive player. He helped to make the squad grow but now they seem to be able to walk and run alone. Ibra certainly makes those around him play better but there is someone who is more decisive than him“.
The Swedish star has contributed little this season. Knee and ankle injuries have limited Zlatan’s to just 168 minutes of play time so far. Nevertheless, the 40-year-old striker has scored 2 goals and provided one assist. The contract of Ibrahimovic expires at the end of the season and this is likely to be his last year as a footballer.
