CorSera: The details of Locatelli’s “bad deal” to Sassuolo

AC Milan’s young defensive midfielder Manuel Locatelli will join Sassuolo on a permanent deal and the Rossoneri will not have a buy-back option.

Yesterday, AC Milan completed the passage of Manuel Locatelli to Sassuolo. The young regista, as explained by Il Corriere della Sera this morning, will transfer on an expensive loan (2 million euros) with the obligation to buy at the end of the season for an additional 12 million (plus two more in bonus). AC Milan will not retain a buy-back option.

The 20 year old midfielder saw his time limited last season and with the upcoming arrival of Bakayoko from Chlesea his minutes would be reduced even further. Despite the Rossoneri’s intention to keep him it was the player himself who wanted to leave.

It doesn’t seem a good deal for AC Milan to sell one of the brightest youngsters of Italian football at this price but the club had to accept the will of the player who wanted a new squad. There is a concrete risk that the Rossoneri could be repeating another Cristante or Aubameyang case.
