CorSera: Milan, two objectives against Genoa

From Europe to championship, AC Milan’s busy schedule continues with a difficult encounter at Marassi with bad weather conditions expected. Against Genoa, as reported today by Il Corriere della Sera, the Rossoneri will have two goals.

The first, needless to say, is to forget the blow suffered with Arsenal, showing everyone that the false step in Europa League has not undermined the progress in Italy, where the band of Gattuso, in 2018, has never lost and has shown that the team has reached an original identity. The second is to recover Nikola Kalinic. The Croatian striker has scored only 4 goals this season but Rino still trust in him and is expected to deploy Kalinic from the first minute today.

Genoa-Milan: Match preview

The Red and Blacks’ 13-game unbeaten run has come to an end after losing to Arsenal in Europa League. Yet, coach Gattuso expressed his boys’ anger and anticipated they will give their all to stretch their positive streak in Serie A as they take on Genoa today at 6.00 PM at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Marassi.

AC MILAN’S FORM – Six wins and a draw in our last seven matches in Serie A make us one of the teams in better formamong the five major European leagues. Only Juventus (3.0) and Bayern Munich (2.8) have recorded a point average higher than we have (2.7). Moreover, the Red and Blacks are unbeaten in the last eight matches and have not conceded a goal in the last three games in the competition – including the two away meetings against SPAL and AS Roma

OUR OPPONENTS’ FORM -The Rossoblu have won three of their last four home games in Serie A, after they had only obtained two points at home in their previous eight matches. Actually, since coach Ballardini’s arrival, Genoa have conceded only eight goals in the league. Only Juventus have done better (4). As regards to their recent record against us, Genoa have won four of the last seven games we have played in the league (1 draw, 2 losses).

TEAM NEWS – Right back Ignazio Abate will not be at coach Gattuso’s disposal at the Marassi, whereas defenderLuca Antonelli returns to the squad.

DANGERMAN – Diego Laxalt took part in three of Genoa’s last four goals in Serie A, scoring two and recording one assist. Against us, he scored a brace on his Serie A debut in September 2013, when playing for Bologna.

Genoa-Milan: The Rossoneri squad

Following the last training session at Milanello ahead of Serie A Matchday 28, the boss selected 23 players to face Genoa at the Marassi on Sunday 11th at 6.00 PM. Here is the full squad:

GOALKEEPERS: A. Donnarumma, G. Donnarumma, Storari
DEFENDERS: Antonelli, Bonucci, Calabria, Gomez, Musacchio, Rodriguez, Romagnoli, Zapata
MIDFIELDERS: Biglia, Bonaventura, Calhanoglu, Kessie, Locatelli, Mauri, Montolivo
FORWARDS: Borini, Cutrone, Kalinic, Andre Silva, Suso.

Sky Sport: Gattuso making 3 changes

According to Manuele Baiocchini, journalist of Sky Sport 24, Rino Gattuso is thinking of several changes in view of Sunday’s Serie A match against Genoa. The fresh faces will be Montolivo (replacing Lucas Biglia), Kalinic (instead of Cutrone) and Borini. The Italian should take the place of one between Suso and Calhanoglu.

The Rossoneri must quickly forget the Europa League disappointing performance against Arsenal and concentrate on shortening the distance in the league with Inter, especially considering that the Nerazzurri will have a tough encounter with Serie A leaders Napoli.
