Confirmed: AC Milan close signing of Sampdoria left back

Ivan Strinic is set to become AC Milan’s first signing for next summer. The player and the Rossoneri have reached an agreement and he joins on a free transfer.

The January transfer window ended without any purchases by AC Milan, but in the past few hours the Rossoneri have closed the first hit for the next season. It is Ivan Strinic, left-back of Sampdoria and the Croatian national. As La Gazzetta dello Sport explains this morning, the player’s contract expires in June and as soon as he is free to leave his current club he will sign with the red and blacks.

ALTERNATIVE ON THE LET – AC Milan have already informed Sampdoria that they have reached an agreement with Strinic, who should take Luca Antonelli’s place at Milan, at the end of the season Antonelli should leave the club and join Fiorentina or Genoa. The Croatian, who will be Ricardo Rodriguez’s alternative on the left, will be busy this summer playing the World Cup in Russia with his national team and subsequently will officially start his new adventure with the Milan shirt.

EXPERIENCE – Strinic is almost 31 years old and Milan have acquired a player of experience, who in his career has dressed for two years even Napoli’s shirt and can accept without major problems the role of substitute on the left wing. The player arrives on a free transfer and therefore represents the first signing of the summer transfer market.
