AC Milan would need three signings in January in order to seriously keep fighting for the Scudetto this season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s late goal helped AC Milan save a point against Udinese. The Rossoneri failed to break Udinese’s defence for the majority of the match highlighting once again the need for new signings, especially in attack. The many absences and declining performances could end up costing Milan the Scudetto if the management does not intervene on time.

The singing of a new centre back in January was not planned but the injury of Simon Kjaer leaves Milan with no other choice reports calciomercato.com. Chelsea star Andreas Christensen is winter dream of the Rossoneri but not an easy target. The Denmark centre back is not renewing his contract with Chelsea for economic reasons and it’s unlikely that Milan can match his salary demands.

Nikola Milenkovic is an old name on Paolo Maldini’s list of targets. The Serbian defender has a gentleman agreement with Fiorentina that allows him to leave if an offer between €15-20 million arrives. On the other hand, the purchase of Botman from Lille would require a hefty investment. The Netherlands star has a long-term contract with the French club.

While the singing of a new centre back is guaranteed AC Milan are evaluating what to do in midfield and attack. Without reinforcements AC Milan risk losing credibility in the Scudetto race. Bakayoko has so far been a big disappointment while in January the Rossoneri will lose Kessie and Bennacer in the African Cup.

That’s why a signing in midfield would be really needed. Marseille’s Kamara remains an option as well as Adli’s arrival six months ahead of the agreement made with Bordeaux. With Pellegri always struggling with muscle problems and Giroud experiencing a troubled season, the arrival of a new striker is a necessity. River Plate’s Julian Alvarez remains the name that teases the most but Real Madrid’s Luke Jovic could be a great opportunity.
