Chelsea wanted 35 million to let Tiemoue Bakayoko join AC Milan on a permanent transfer last summer but things have changed now.
According to Tuttosport, the possibility of seeing Tiemoue Bakayoko return to AC Milan again next season has increased considerably. The French midfielder of Monaco has returned to Chelsea after the Ligue 1 ended prematurely because of the Coronavirus outbreak.
Chelsea coach Frank Lampard will not rely on Bakayoko for next season and the 25-year-old defensive midfielder is on the market. Chelsea have lowered their asking price for the French midfielder.
The English club last summer asked for at least 35 million euros to sell Tiemoue but this time they could be satisfied with ‘only’ 20 million euros for Bakayoko.
A figure well within reach for AC Milan but the player’s salary remains a problem for Elliot. Bakayoko ears over 6 million a year from the Blues. Way too much for the Milanese coffers with the Rossoneri unlikely to present an offer of more than 4 million.
Ivan Gazidis wants to impose a salary cap of 3 million euros and exceptions will be made only for Donnarumma and Romagnoli. Nevertheless, a compromise could be reached with the player eager to return to Milan for a second spell.
