Borussia Dortmund player Julian Brandt has emerged as a possible candidate for the AC Milan attacking midfielder role.
The casting for the attacking midfielder role continues. The Rossoneri are considering numerous profiles, waiting to find the best opportunity on the market. Stefano Pioli needs a quality player to fill the technical void left by Hakan Calhanoglu, who joined Inter on a free transfer.
Nikola Vlasic is the frontrunner while Josip Ilicic is considered as a back-up alternative. AC Milan are in contact CSKA Moscow but their asking price is considered high at the moment. In the meantime, a new name has entered on the Rossoneri orbit.
In Ricky Massara’s list of targets, since his time of Roma, there is the name of Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt. The German is an attacking midfielder that can play on both wings. In fact, Maignan was the first “old” target of Massara to join AC Milan. The Rossoneri sporting director had tried to sign the former Lille goalkeeper during his time at Roma.
Borussia Dortmund rate Brandt at around 20-25 million euros. The German international could also be available on an initial loan. After the sale of Jadon Sancho to Manchester United, Dortmund do not need to monetize but the 25-year-old wants to play more.
Lazio new coach Maurizio Sarri is a big fan of Julian Brandt. Lazio have targeted the 25-year-old attacking midfielder has a possible replacement for Joaquin Correa who could join PSG. Brandt joined Dortmund two years ago from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of €25 million. After a great debut year with Borussia, the German saw his play time restricted last season.
