Young centre back Gustavo Gomez is going to be the first player to leave AC Milan in the January transfer window. Boca Juniors are the most interested club in his services.
Only one presence in this season’s start, in Europa League, just ten minutes against Austria Vienna (5-1). There is no room at AC Milan for Gustavo Gomez, out of the radar of Vincenzo Montella initially and Gennaro Gattuso now. The arrivals of Leonardo Bonucci and Mateo Musacchio have put him down that the pecking order. Massimiliano Mirabelli tried to sell him during the last summer market session, but without success. Turkish clubs are highly interested in him, while the Boca Juniors proposal is now concrete. The Paraguayan defender would be happy to return in Argentina but Milan insist on certain conditions.
The Rossoneri purchased Gustavo Gomez in the summer of 2016 from Lanus for around eight million. The centre back is still young and with good margin of improvement. The red and blacks therefore do not intend to offer discounts or gifts to anyone. That’s why they decided to reject the first official offer of Boca Juniors.
According to reports from Calciomercato.com, the Argentine club have proposed a loan move until the end of the season. AC Milan have different plans: the Italians want to sell the player permanently because he is not part of the club’s future projects. Milan have set a ten million euros price tag for Gomez, lots of money for a club like Boca. Negotiations continue between the parties to find a solution.
An alternative could be a loan move with the obligation to buy. The Xeneizes must make a considerable effort if they really want to buy Gomez. The Rossoneri are opened to close a deal as soon as possible. A new offer is expected in the next few hours. One thing is for sure, these days are the last of Gustavo Gomez at Milanello but he is only the first departure of this winter session.
