The German newspaper reports that AC Milan and Bayern Leverkusen are closing the transfer of the 28-year-old striker.
As already reported by acmilaninfo.com, AC Milan will sign a new centre forward this summer regardless of the permanence or not of Divock Origi. The former Liverpool has rejected every proposal until now. Instead, Lorenzo Colombo will leave on loan with Cagliari strongly pushing to secure his services.
Sardar Azmoun could be AC Milan’s new striker according to the German press. BILD reports today that AC Milan are in advanced talks with Bayern Leverkusen to complete the transfer of the 28-year-old Iran international. According to the same report, the Rossoneri and the player have already reached an agreement on personal terms
Azmoun excelled during his time at Zenit Saint Petersburg helping the Russian club win trophies on every season. However, his transfer to Bayern Leverkusen has been unsuccessful with Azmoun unable to repeat himself in Germany. The Iranian striker scored 4 goals and assisted another 4 in 33 appearances with Leverkusen last season.
Both Sardar Azmoun and the German club feel it’s time to part ways this summer. The 28-year-old has been close to Milan in the past as well. More than one year ago he was offered to the Italian club but a deal did no go through and Azmoun eventually moved to Bayern Leverkusen for a low fee of €2.5 million. That’s because his contract with Zenit was expiring in 6 months.
Sardar Azmoun has been praised for his aerial ability, creativity, and bursts of acceleration. He has been compared to Zlatan Ibrahimovic for their similar style of play while in Iran he has been touted to be the heir of legendary Iranian striker Ali Daei. Bayern Leverkusen are reportedly asking a fee of around €8 million for the Iranian striker.
