AC Milan remain in the race for Domenico Berardi with Stefano Pioli a big admirer of the €30 million rated Sassuolo winger.
The name of Domenico Berardi is back in fashion at Casa Milan. The 27-year-old remains one of the best players in Serie A and dreams of joining an important club this summer. With his contract expiring in 2024, the skilled right winger is expected to leave Sassuolo at the end of the season.
Domenico Berardi is having a fantastic season with Sassuolo. The Italian right winger has scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists in 23 Serie A appearances so far. His great form has not gone unnoticed with AC Milan and other clubs closely monitoring his situation.
AC Milan made an attempt to sign Berardi last summer but without success. Sassuolo were asking for over 35 million euros for the star forward, a figure that was deemed excessive by the Rossoneri management. Ultimately, AC Milan signed Junior Messias on loan with an option to buy permanently.
Nevertheless, the Sassuolo star remains on AC Milan’s radar with Stefano Pioli being a bid admirer. The Italian coach considers Berardi the perfect right winger for his 4-2-3-1 formation. Quick, tenacious, technically gifted and with an eye for goal, the left-footed Italy international embodies Pioli’s football ideas. He is still Pioli’s number one pick in that position.
The problem in this case is of an economic nature and not only. Sassuolo are asking for over €30 million to part ways with their star forward. However, AC Milan plan to make important investments during the summer for the signing of a new defender, midfielder and striker. The purchase of another winger could be out of budget for Elliott. In addition, Milan already have three right wingers on their books.
