AC Milan are considering the signing of a new centre forward in January and Torino star Andrea Belotti is the number on target.
After trying in the summer of 2017 and then last January, AC Milan are back on the trail of Andrea Belotti. The Torino centre forward is set to change club soon with his contract expiring at the end of the season and AC Milan are leading the race.
In the previous two occasions, the very high asking price of Torino never allowed the Rossoneri to purchase Belotti but this time Torino is out of the equation and the player can leave as a free agent.
Tuttosport recalls that four years ago AC Milan led by Fassone and Mirabelli were looking for a striker and Andrea Belotti was their top target. The transfer did not go through because Torino asked for 100 million euros, a figure that no one at Milan, or in Europe, was willing to spend. At the end the Rossoneri completed their attack with Andre Silva and Kalinic. Milan also wanted il Gallo as Ibrahimovic’s partner/back-up in January 2021 but Torino, in the middle of a relegation battle, did not open up to the sale of their captain and Milan eventually signed Mario Mandzukic.
Now the situation is different because Belotti is about to become a free agent. However, AC Milan can sign the Italian striker earlier in January reports Tuttosport. Everything depends on the conditions of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Rossoneri have decided to sign a new striker if Zlatan’s physical form does not improve.
The Swedish striker has only played 30 minutes so far in the match against Lazio. Olivier Giroud and Pietro Pellegri too haven’t seen the pitch a lot. The French star has missed a couple of matche due to low back pain while the Italian youngster had been fully fit for the last two years.
