New Barcelona coach Xavi is looking at similar players with AC Milan to strengthen his midfield in January.
The winter transfer window opens in less than a month. The Rossoneri management has identified several names that can improve Stefano Pioli’s squad in January if negotiations prove successful.
A delicate department for the Rossoneri is the midfield with Bennacer and Kessie set to play in the African Cup in January. AC Milan have have targeted Renato Sanches and Boubacar Kamara as he ideal substitute of Franck Kessie. The Ivorian is expected to leave Milan at the end of the season as a free agent.
Boubacar Kamara is a similar situation. The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has refused to extend his contract with Marseille and will be available on a free transfer once the season is over. Milan have been following the French talent for a long time and will test Marseille’s reluctance to sell with an offer in January.
However, AC Milan are not the only club after Renato Sanches and Kamara. Todfichajes reports that Barcelona are interested in both Sanches and Kamara. Barca coach Xavi has asked for new signings to strengthen the midfield after their shocking Champions League exit.
Barcelona are going through a difficult financial situation and can’t afford expensive purchases. That’s why the names of Kamara and Sanches are suitable to their economic capabilities. While Kamara becomes a free agent soon, the contract of Renato Sanches expires in 2023 so Lille are forced to sell him in advanced in order to profit from his departure.
