Barcelona player says yes to AC Milan

AC Milan have agreed personal terms with Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo but the transfer modality is a problem.

AC Milan are planning important changes to strengthen the defence. One of the priorities is to find a back-up for Theo Hernandez and the Rossoneri have identified Barcelona’s Junior Firpo as the perfect player.

The 24-year-old Spanish defender was very close to joining Milan in January but the move collapsed for family reasons. Now the parties are back on the negotiation table. Junior Firpo has agreed personal terms with AC Milan but the transfer modality is a problem for both the player and Barca.

AC Milan would like to sign Firpo on loan with an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season reports Sport. The Spanish full-back would prefer to join the Rossoneri on a permanent deal. Despite the differences, the transfer modality is not expected to be a deal breaker.

AC Milan plan to invest a lot to strengthen the attack so Maldini is trying to avoid spending €20 million for a player that will fill the role of Theo’s deputy. That’s why there is still a chance that Diogo Dalot may extend his stay at San Siro. Manchester United are looking to sell Dalot but, if they don’t receive a pleasing offer, he will be available on loan again.

Nevertheless, Junior Firpo remains the priority of the Rossoneri. In the meantime AC Milan have completed the sale of Diego Laxalt to Dinamo Moscow. The Uruguayan left-back joins the Russian club for a modest figure of 3.5 million euros.
