After Juventus, Barcelona are the second club to make an offer for AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli.
The summer transfer window hasn’t officially started yet but Alessio Romagnoli is already one of the most in-demand players on the market. The contract of the AC Milan captain expires on 30 June 2022 and a couple of clubs are trying to exploit this aspect.
After a recent attempt from Juventus, Barcelona are the latest club to join the race for the services of Romagnoli. TodoFichajes confirm the long interest of Barcelona in Romagnoli and report that the Blaugrana have offered 20 million euros plus Jean-Clair Todibo in exchange for Alessio.
Todibo was very close to joining AC Milan in January. The Rossoneri had agreed personal terms with the 20-year-old defender but Barcelona’s refusal to allow Todibo to move on a permanent transfer caused the deal to collapse. He later joined Schalke 04 on loan for the remaining of the season.
Now Barcelona are trying to use Todibo again in their attempt to lure Romagnoli in Spain. Nevertheless, AC Milan are not worried by Barca’s advances. The Rossoneri are confident that the captain will renew his contract and extend his stay at San Siro. The renewal of the talented centre back is one of Gazidis’ priorities for the summer.
Juventus were the first club to see an offer for the 25-year-old centre back rejected. The Serie A rivals offer an unknown figure in cash plus defender Daniele Rugani but the Rossoneri were not interested in such a deal.
