Bakayoko to return at Milan on one condition

AC Milan are already working to complete the return of Tiemoue Bakayoko. The midfielder will leave Monaco at the end of the season.

All true: Tiemoue Bakayoko can return to Milan after just one season. The French defensive midfielder is a concrete option for the Rossoneri.

The 25-year-old is currently on loan at Monaco but Bakayoko will return to Chelsea at the end of the season because so far Monaco have refused to make his transfer permanent.

AC Milan are trying to sell Franck Kessie. If the sale of the Ivorian midfielder results successful, the Rossoneri plan to use that money to fund a move for Tiemoue Bakayoko whose price tag has fallen to €25 million. The management is already at work.

However, Bakayoko could return to AC Milan on one condition only. The player will have to sharply reduce his salary. The midfielder in fact currently earns a really high figure, close to 6 million net per season. At the Rossoneri only Donnarumma earns that amount while Romagnoli and Biglia (in second place in AC Milan Player Salaries 2019/20) both earn 3,5 million.

Ivan Gazidis is working to reduce the unjustified high figure the club spends on players wages. Fortunately, Bakayoko is willing to make a sacrifice in order to return at San Siro. He had a couple of controversial episodes during his sole year in Italy but, after a difficult star, Tiemoue was perhaps the best player that season.

Tactically, Bakayoko’s return to Milanello would be more than useful. Combining Ismael Bennacer’s inspiration with the physicality and experience of a giant like the Chelsea-owned Frenchman would be an ideal choice, at least in theory.
