Atalanta-Milan, probable lineups

Atalanta face AC Milan today in a crucial match that may decide a lot regarding the Champions League ambitions of both clubs.

Great anticipation for today’s match in Bergamo, AC Milan face Atalanta in what is going to be a direct clash for a spot in next season’s Champions League. At the moment the Rossoneri occupy the forth spot in the standings just one point ahead of Atalanta but haven’t won an away game in Atleti Azzurri d’Italia stadium since 2015. Atalanta-Milan is also a challenge between two of Serie A’s most prolific strikers, Zapata and Piatek.

An encounter a great importance for both clubs and their European hopes. For this match coach Gattuso will rely on his usual lineup of recent weeks. Between the posts as always Gigio Donnarumma while in front of him the four man defence will be formed by Musacchio, Romagnoli, Ricardo Rodriguez and Davide Calabria.

Despite his return, Rino doesn’t want to risk Lucas Biglia from the first minute so the Argentine must wait for his chance on the bench. Another Lucas, the Brazilian Paqueta, will lead the midfield department alongside Franck Kessie and Bakayoko.

No changes even in attack. Coach Gattuso blindly trusts on Hakan Calhanoglu and the Turkish winger will start again from the first minute on the left. Suso on the opposite flank in support of the unstoppable Krzysztof Piatek. The Pole has scored 15 Serie A goals so far while his opponent colleague Zapata one more.

ATALANTA (3-4-1-2): Berisha, Toloi, Palomino, Mancini, Hateboer, De Roon, Freuler, Castagne, Gomez, Ilicic, Zapata.

AC MILAN (4-3-3): Donnarumma, Rodriguez, Musacchio, Romagnoli, Calabria, Bakayoko, Kessie, Paqueta, Calhanoglu, Suso, Piatek.
