AC Milan attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz is a summer target of Arsenal with coach Mikel Arteta a big fan of his.
Arsenal are having a sensational season in England. The Gunners are leading the Premier League and could land their first league tittle in almost two decades. The London side have an eight point cushion on second-placed Manchester City with ten matches remaining until the end of the season.
Despite having one of the youngest and strongest squads around, Arsenal are looking to improve when the summer transfer window opens. According to Spanish publication El Nacional, Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta is obsessed with AC Milan forward Brahim Diaz who is currently on loan from Real Madrid.
Brahim Diaz is in his third year of loan at the Rossoneri. The 23-year-old arrived in the summer of 2020 and has made 110 appearances with the Italian champions, scoring 16 goals and providing 10 assists. At the end of the season Milan will decide whether they will exercise the €22 million option they have on Diaz.
At the same time, Real Madrid are in contact with the player and have offered him a new contract. Diaz could return to Spain with AC Milan reportedly not willing to met Madrid’s asking price but the situation is different for Arsenal. The Premier League club would have no problem putting on the table such a figure.
Coach Mikel Arteta believes that Brahim Diaz can have a leading role at Emirates. Arsenal are desperate to improve their midfield in the summer and hope to repeat the Odegaard operation. Martin Odegaard has established himself as one of the best players in England after years of struggle while on the books of Real Madrid.
